Mission:  Maximize potential of persons with ASD by making available state–of–the–art information on evidence-based interventions for persons with ASD, their families, and professionals caring for these persons in California.

  • Professionals, families, and policy makers understand & value evidence-based & effective approaches to intervention.
  • Professionals & families are able to identify and effectively select interventions based on each child’s unique needs.
  • Policymakers make decisions based on current state of evidence-based knowledge regarding ASD.
  • The mechanisms are in place for families to feel that their needs & their child’s needs are met.
  • Effective intervention practices are adopted by the various agencies and organizations that provide services to individuals with ASD.
  • Intervention services for individuals with ASD are more timely, successful and viable, thus resulting in effective use of local resources.
  • Families and other important stakeholders contribute input at various points in the development of the document.
  • Methodology is developed whereby interventions will be evaluated and rated according to current scientific evidence and/or demonstrated clinical effectiveness.
  • Research is synthesized and translated into clear, accessible guidelines and recommendations for professionals and families.
  • Respected experts and organizations are involved in writing and reviewing the document.
